It Never Fails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT NEVER ****ING FAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in 2003 when I bought my 2003 lancer Evolution VIII, I was driving it FROM the dealer to meet some friends when all of a sudden THWACK!!!!! A rock fly's off a truck and hits my windshield, chipping it. Not even 30 miles on it. As I owned that car if you so much as looked at the windshield funny it cracked. I got little chips all over it.

Now I have an IX, today on my way to work, TWACK!!!! Cracked windshield. These cars juts beg for it I am telling you. It's dead center too, all I can do is look right at it when I am driving now. I can't even imagine how much a new windshield is. Is there a way to fix chips so that they look good? It's a small chip and then a hairline crack.

That sucks! The first chip is the toughest.

Binzwanger Glass here in Atlanta services all of the high end dealerships and have done good work in the past. I would replace it.

I feel your pain man.

I had a pretty big crack that happened when I big rig kicked up a rock.

I got it replaced a month later for $50 because of my insurance covered it.

Two days later a truck kicks up a rock.

Pissed me off!

The new chip was fixed by injecting some epoxy into the chip and flashing it with some UV light. I can still see the chip - not as bad - but you can still see it and it pisses me off.

I'm just waiting unti I get a bigger chip then I'll get it replaced.

I dont follow cars as colsely anymore for this reason. At least it wasnt the paint. I dont think getting a windshield replaced is too terrible, maybe like $150-200. The thing that sucks is it will obviously continue to spider when you hit bumps in the road and stuff.

a window chip filler usually charger $40-$80 depending on the size, when hes done it will look like a rain drop.

that is why i got my new IX the diamond fusion or what ever called windshield protection plan. They apply some kind of stuff on your wind shield and you got g 5 year guarante on it. if it's cracks or anything else they will replace it for free.
pluss my windshield acting like i have rain-x on it.
ask for the local dealer about it. i like it so far .Winter, so you know: got stones and salt banging all over my windshield ,no damage so far. works preatty good.
my 8 after the first snow got chips all over on the windshield.

430 bucks for a new one installed, some insurance companies have free windsheild replacement rather than filing a claim and making your rates go up.

It has happen to my past 3 cars. safelite auto glass fixed mines and I highly recommend it to anyone
http://www.safelite.com/repair.jsp
They have a door to door service and can come to your house and fix the crack or rock chip. insurance paid to fix mines with out me paying a single penny.. most insurance companies pay for it rather than replacing your windshield and premiums go up. my past cars were insured my 4 different big name companies and they all paid for the damages.. I live in the city so this happens a lot, so I am always ready to call them to fix my glass. what they do is drill a hole where the rock hit and fill it with a resin and then if there is any cracks they drill where the crack ends so that it won't spread anymore and they fill the resin so you can barely see the crack anymore. it's freaking amazing. I recommend safelite to anyone who had a rock fly into their windshield.
