wmcorcor said it best. We're lucky to even get these cars and the more competition the better these cars will get.

Each car has it strengths and weaknesses.

I beat the living **** out of it and yes all it ever had was that stupid spoiler problem you were talking about.. Mechanically I beat it to **** boosted it up intake, exhaust, boost, ECU, BOV, clutch never died after 100's of sweet launches, and plus it had every toy know to man.. Active Aero, Active Exhaust, Adjustable suspension, All wheel Drive, All wheel steer, Climate Control display by ATARI!...
What a crock of **** your story of the VR4 being a POS is!!! That car was only guilty of undersized brakes that year which they corrected, and for being a little overweight.. but it would school many nice cars in the canyon with the SO2 pole positions..

Dude, you're stuck all over subaru... well drive an EVO and tell me the Sti is TURBINE smooth like the mitsu is!
Having driven the USDM versions of the STi, Evo and the VR-4, I can tell you that the Evo is slightly better than the STi but the VR-4 is a distant third. I'm NOT talking about measurable performance like straight line acceleration and cornering g's. I'm talking purely from the "fun-to-drive" subjective perspective. Most drivers of average ability seem to like the VR-4's safe understeering behavior, but anyone who has a reasonable amount of driving skill will tell you that the VR4 refuses to cooperate to the drivers inputs. Throttle steer? Let's make that "understeer". Steering feedback? Doesen't exist in the VR-4s vocabulary. Sure, it goes fast and corners hard but it refuses to work with the driver. It just goes about it's own merry way. Safe, Fast but plain boring. Proof that technology in and in itself will not make a car more fun-to drive.

To even mention the names "EVO" and "3000gt VR-4" in the same sentence is to insult the EVO...

Ok, I was just kidding about the last sentence, but you catch my drift...

I think this post was about one guy who doesn't like the way the STi looks, besides it's inarguably more than capable performance. Lets just remember that the front fascia, the hood scoop, and especially the rear spoiler are all functional, not some speed racer design created by a kid in his garage. If the form is functional, and delivers on it's promise than it's beautiful to me. Anyone who would miss out on cars like this based on outward design is to be pittied.

For all of you who thinks the STi sucks or the Evo sucks, know that its a driver's race. On the tarmac the Evo has a slight advantage. Tighter handling and quicker turning. The STi is really the better rally setup....meaning off the road where the intercooler mounted higher up won't get caked with mud and the looser setup actually helps. Eitherway on the road or off it when racing both of these cars side-by-side the reason you lose won't be because the other guy's car was better.

Also I believe you can get the standard WRX wing at no extra cost. Not sure though.
