Picked up my IX SE yesterday

I love this freaking car. First, I'll explain my deal. I'm a conductor/engineer for the BNSF railway and since we haul a lot of vehicles for Mitsu so we get a discount. The only Evos around were at a dealership about an hour away from me and they had 2 SSLs and 1 SE. Of course I opted for the SE which had the sticker price at $33.8K. My deal was invoice price less dealer incentive. This brought the price down to right at $30K. My trade vehicle was my '03 Rally Red Evo VIII. 41K, hail damage galore, no clear on the wing left, Brembos were all pink, and the clutch was about gone at this point. Apparently the only thing they noticed was the hail damage and wing. They offered me $13K on my trade and I said thank you and goodbye. The dealer called me back about 10 minutes after I left and met me halfway and ended up giving me $16K on it. So I am the proud new owner of a 2006 Apex Silver IX SE.

I'll get some up tomorrow. Only mods at the moment are my JDM MR tails, Perrin shorty antenna, and a K&N panel filter. I have a spare bedroom full of crap that I never installed on the VIII that's going on the IX.

It's amazing how you can pick out the nuances between the '03 and the '06. My girlfriend finally told me to shut up when I mentioned that the initial start-up bell/ding was different.

If you read his post it says "hail damage". Even so, I think 23-24K is a bit optimistic.

Agree. I have some hail damage on my evo, when I was at the dealership it had 39K miles on it. Pink brembos and yellow clear coat on the wing. I was offered $20K for mine. But 6 month before that I bought the car for $26000 tax included. I figured $6000 in 6 months, screw that...Right now the car is flawless, fixed everything (except hail damage) it's not that big anyways.
I had HKS cat-back and intake etc Oh, and check engine light on (due to the cat-delete)

I wouldn't do what you did, but congrats on new IX
