All kidding aside, the 350Z and the EVO weight practically the same and the power from the V6 is quite comparable to the EVO in stock form (at least on paper).
You got me. My math aint so good. I ment 3k lbs. which the Evo is close to, but the Z still feels like "it was made out of lead" LOL

sold my evo8 and went looking for another car. drove 2 350's and kept waiting for the car to accellerate. ended up with a new evo9. they are nice looking cars, but just don't hold a candle to the evo in terms of handling and power, not to mention how cheap the evo is to gain stupid amounts of additional power.

Great line

I'm going to have to use it with some 350z/G35 owners I know.

350z's and G35's are all too common in my area with a full spectrum of different people driving them.

Hey if that's what you want then go for it. Don't let these jokers influence you afterall this is an EVO forum and most people here a biased towards the EVO. If you like to have a car that is common and you don't mind spending more for mods to get more power, and as long as you are OK with people asking you why you are driving a girly car then go for it it's your money. If you think the Z (G35) looks good on you while your driving it then by all means get it because you feel good about it. It does not matter what other people think for as long as you love and enjoy driving it. I say to each his own. Girly cars need drivers too.

just kidding.

amen!!! lol...but i see that you changed to a G35... well if you want less performance and a car that isnt hand made and one of the greatest Japanese muscle cars of all time...one of the cars legends have been made from...well then go ahead and get yourself a nice G35...just do me a favor and dont try to race every Evo out there like all the other idiots...unless you get a nice supercharger or something to where you know you can beat us...otherwise use it for what it was made for....to cruise and pick up hot chicks... for life

The Evolution weighs past the 3,000lb mark. Partially, it's the AWD that makes the Evolution pull harder then the 350z.

its the AWD that makes it pull harder?...it should have more HP loss because of AWD...

its because the 350Z isnt a rally bred beast...

AWD, RWD, FWD have no effect on how hard a car pulls if you're not spinning the tires.

That "pull" you're feeling is from TQ. I've had my friends' RSXs pull on me even though my car feels faster. I'm putting out significantly more torque than their cars.

+1 another former Z owner who traded up for an evo. the Z was hot, and got a lot of attention (girl driving bright orange sports car, not something you see very often) but it didnt respond to mods very well and you have to drop a TON of $$ to get some decent power out of it. i loved that car, and i'd never bash it, but i'm just happier with my evo.

I currently have a Vortech'd G35 and just picked up a GGP '06 MR. The two cars are totally different, even with my supercharger. The G35 powerband is much more linear than the MR's and although they have similar hp/tq number(stock for stock), the Evo's turbos make the MR seem a lot faster. Comfort goes to the G35 by a long shot as well as interior build quality. Anything performance related, the Evo wins. My G35 just feels heavier all around corners, even with sways and coils, and the steering is a bit slower as well. For comfort and luxury, go with the G35. It rides a hell of a lot better and is a much better daily driver. In the speed dept, even with my Vortech, my G35 would have a hard time beating the Evo. To me, I think of the MR as being a toy car. Awesome weekend car to take to the track, canyons, cruising, etc. But, when I have to go to work I'll always pick the G35.
