Damn you guys are hardcore! I got my EVO 3 weeks ago and it's getting it's first wash tomorrow! I'm thinking of taking the wheels off and waxing them so the brake dust is easier to clean off in the future.

just got my black evo memorial day and it is still clean right now, I would probably wash it every two weeks whenever it gets dirty. it is well garaged every day and night so it wouldn't bother me to get it dirty. and guess what I even say good night and good morning to my evo every time I open and close my garage door this is our baby

man.. i think something is wrong with my paint!!!

i've handwashed my car using the best techniques, and i have swirls already!!!!! wtf!! is there no clearcoat on this car of mine??

i know black is a PIA when it comes to this, but i was so careful!! and i've had a black car before, that didnt do this!

i'm gonna go talk to my sales guy and see if there's something not so right with my car.. this is just ridiculous!

both the us lancer and evo's have a thin sub par clear coat.... which is one of the main reasons the paint chips so easily.

Usually once a week. Unless it continues to rain as it has for 24 of the 31 days this month. Silver doesn't show the dirt as bad as most other colors.

why? does it damage/age your paint faster then hand washing? I have always been told that touchless (powerwashing) is preferable because you can't get any grit in your washing material (sponge, mit etc) to drag across the paint and degrade it's quality.

if I am wrong here, please let me know and I will stop doing this....

The first 2 weeks I had it, I averaged slightly above 1 wash a day. (There was a day or 2 that I had to wash it twice.)

About once or twice a week, depending on how dirty and what kind of time I have.
