How long can 100% methanol sit in a tank before it degrades and loses its potency?

As a rule for running straight Methanol in our dragster, we use a top end lube specifically made for Methanol to ward off corrosion. Most speed shops sell it and VP fuels makes a top end lube.
We use prolly 15-20 barrels of Methanol a season. Anything we have left over from November is usually not worth keeping come February. Not that it cannot be used, but there seems to be no way to stop the absorbsion of water once the barrel seal is broken.
Only buy what you need, not large quantities. Plus you cannot control the enviroment the distributor keeps the Methanol in, or where the distributor purchased it.
We always try and buy VP 99.9% Methanol if at all possible by the barrel. For us, VP is the most consistent Methanol we have found, but still is hydroscopic over the winter if barrel has been opened. (Mind you, we don't leave the barrel open-LOL)
