Exhaust leak with 3" Catback and Stock Cat...?

Is there an easy fix for this? I'm guessing a new gasket? Not looking to do the full TBE right now. Can this result in low boost readings? This is what by boost looks like:

1st Gear: 4 psi at 4K
2nd Gear: 8 psi at 4K
3rd Gear: 10 psi at 4K
4th Gear: 18 psi at 4200
5th Gear: 14 psi at 3200

No kinks in the hose or leaks at the tee in the boost line. I can feel lots of air moving at the stock cat flange and my Greddy SP2. I haven't installed my MBC or Flash yet. Wanting to fix this little issue first. I know alot of IXs from the factory have lower than advertised boost easily fixed by the flash. Just wondering if my exhaust leak would attribute to this or make it taper quicker.

sounds more like a boost like to me, check your bov .....exhaust leak would have nothing to do with this, if you had an exhaust leak your car would just sound like its dragging a garbage bag

New gasget and see if that helps at all. I was peaking at 19.4PSI and holding 16.4PSI with my car.

Recently got it flashed and it now holds 1.42 BAR = 20.4 to 20.6PSI so I would look into flashing your ECU then see what happends. But year it would effect your back pressure with a leak like that I would imagine.

Exhaust leaks will not effect the ammount of peak boost at all, you should be touching 20 for all gears on stock turbo, you have a boost leak plain and simple.

Use the factory gasket and then the 3" gasket in conjunction with each other, the factory gasket on the side of the cat and then layer the 3" one behind to mate to the 3" catback.

ie.

== ()o [:::]

== 3" exhaust pipe.
()= 3" gasket.
o= factory gasket.
[:::]= cat.

worked for me.

16-18 PSI at WOT 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Did some logged runs with EVOSCAN with a fellow forum member...no signs of a leak...power was pretty much consistently on during the logged runs. Seems to be an inconsistent gauge (autometer).
