What are your strategies for...?

Im dont know the best way to ask this. But for the people who have "light" mods or even with serious mods on their Evos with "extended warranty".

What do you do to avoid getting your warranty voided everytime you go to smog tests, dealership or wherever that can void your warranty? Any strategies/ways you guys do???

Im looking at the Buschur Stage 1 kit but I have these questions in mind.
Any suggestions/comments?

You may skirt by on the grace of God, but I wouldn't exactly count on it.

Usually mods = you're on your own.

Simple things like exhaust and intake shouldnt hurt, but once you mess with boost pressure, cat converter, and turbo then you are on your own.

Very true, when I used to "hide" mods from the local Honda dealer, I would paint a lot of stuff black, cover exposed air filters in a black abs plastic box and route air to it from the front bumper. Little did I know that was actually a more effective way to make power (no heat soak) hahaha.

I mean really, that's about all I can think of, best of luck!

remember they (technically) can't void your warranty unless they can prove the aftermarket part caused the failure.

true, but some of them are @$$h0le$ and will say whatever they want. unless they do need a REAL proof of the cause

Yes it will be voided. It really all depends on your dealer and what they say is OK. People have posted that a turbo timer and nothing else voided there powertrain. Others have stages ones and are fine. Me personally if I needed warrenty work at all the car will be 100% stock

Expensive relative to others that can provide equal or better HP results, but this may be one route to try if you want to remain stealth.

instead of the works p2 i would get a custom tune. i am sure there are alot in you area. or you can go the ecuflash route and switch from aftermarket tune to stock tune whenever you want

Honestly, if you mod the car you have to be ready to foot the bill if anything happens. Or, you have to be ready to take your dealership to court if they try to screw you.
