Turbo Death Whine

dam yall, this wasn't a question more of a "this sucks" i guess the good news is i have my JUN 264's, valve springs and retainers, a tial 50mm, and injectors going in when the turbo gets here.

found out yesterday i blew my turbo. while coming home from the store i turned down my radio to let a freind listen to this howling noise. only happend when the car started to boost and would then go away.

so i did a pull to get into boost and as i did that the car would not boost any more. now i get the noise after 2200rpm's. kinda sucks cause i just orderd a new turbo that won't get here for another 3 weeks

later today i will get my camera and post a clip of how nasty it sounds.

I don't think a TT had anything to do with his Turbo going out. Bearings wear, especially if you use factory recommended Mobil One. Did you disconnect your intake tube and check for shaft movement? Was there excess oil in the LICP?
At least you have a jump on the new Turbo and don't have to wait from this point on.

yes checked the shaft and it was wiggling, and yes there was both oil in the LICP and in the intake. kinda blows but what can you do.

Why would mobil one wear out his bearings?

I'm going out on a limb here, but I don't think mobil1 wore out the turbo. I would suspect a lack of oil changes and dirty oil first.

Ya, so about this noise, when you gonna post up the clip of the sound, cuz my turbo is squeeling. Everytime I start to make boost it squeels like a whistle, it's annoying the HECK out of me.haha

That sounds more like a boost leak. Try a boost leak test

The whistle sounds like a boost leak I agree. I had a leak at my turbo outlet and it whistled like mad!
