All white tail lights for EVO?

Alright, don't flame me. I've tried searching. I love the way the EVO looks already, but I would love to have a unique signature look to my EVO (maybe not unique after this ). I definitely think it would look killer on a silver EVO !

What do you guys think about an all white/clear tail light set up for the EVO? Personally, I've only seen the Lexus RX-300 with it and a picture of the MINI. So I'd associate it with high class/quality. If you guys think this would look good, then how do we get it manufactured?

Let the comments roll......

You know all clear tails are illegal. Brake lights and tail lights must light red. (They can have clear backs so long as the bulbs are red). This is the sort of thing APC was recently fined for. Good luck though.

HobieKopek,

I've always thought "Red" had to be visible from the tail lights before lit. I've seen the RX-300 light up red when brakes applied. Obviously, the RX is street legal and those lights come right off the dealer lot. So I'm clueless regarding the street legal issues.

If you find some white tails, we could add them here.

Legal or not, I'm sure this will give cops another excuse to pull you over.

Played out????? The cars mentioned above are the only cars I know that have no red coloring in them. I can accept different opinions, but I didn't realize they were played out.

they are legal as long as there is a red reflector somewhere visible on the rear of the car.

I work for BMW and on the MINIs we must install these two red reflectors in the back bumper. That pic doesn't have them installed but we will be fined on the dealer front by DOT if they are not properly installed.

Where I am from(NY) everyone has clear(white tailights) or altezzas tail lights. That is why they are played out. If you do get them you can buy high temperature engine paint in red and paint the bulbs. This worked very well for my friend and they didn't fade as much as the red bulbs that they sell.

No matter what though white tail lights are very hard to see especially when it is bright outside. Besides bringing more attention to the car you have a good chance of getting rear ended.

I think it actually depends on the car itself...I dont think they look too bad on the mini I like clears better than altezzas. Have you guys seen the brand new lexus 330suv. The tails are completely clear with no red in them except the bulbs themselves. So clears arent exactly illegal if they are selling them that way. I have smoked out tails myself, to me they look decent cuz they match the color of my car.
