My experience was that the sti had more mid corner push than the evo. You could actually feel the front end rise and feel the push on the sti when you gave it a little gas mid corner. The evo has the same tendency but has much less lift and push than the sti in my experience. I have about the same amount of seat time in both when they were stock. When I modded the sti it just made the lift and push more pronounced but as many have mentioned the sti is more rear wheel drive biased and you can definitely get the back end to step out like a FR with a little throttle and steering input. With the DCCD set all the way to the rear you could get the *** end to hang out and power slide much much easier than the evo. The sti likes to enter corners faster, modulate the throttle and steering to get your line, and then power out of the corner. I find that the evo likes to enter the benders a little slower but get on the throttle a little sooner and slingshot out of the apex.

I wish I could have kept the sti in the garage with the evo because the minor differences in suspension geometry and overall weight distribution make both cars very different without one being necessarily better than the other.

i think just lap time does not always reflect how the car handles. handling i mean the 'feel' one gets when he drives it hard. sti may have improved but still does not get my vote.

Most of the drivers out there the Evo always will give a better lap time. Wich means same driver same track same day same weather , evo vs sti the evo will win ,period./it is pruven many years now, autox roadracing etc./ Why? Because more communicative and more predictible. This is just away it is. Not neccesery better car but much easyer to get a good lap time with the Evo set up for an avarege driver.
So for an averige driver the Evo will be the "fastest" car.
Another hand ,talented driver with the sti can easily out run the evo with an avarege driver in it.
But the question is this: wich is handling better?
If you acknolige what i wrote here then the decision will be easy since the most people will be faster in the evo.
So the Evo.
Explonation is easy, because in the evo, more people faster. Altough the STI have more hp more tq and lighter .So to being still faster, the evo have to have a better handling. Don't you agree?
Besides alots of test etc ,when they always edge out the evo for better handling.

You can remove most any ball joint easily with no special tools. Just loosen the lock nut, but leave it on a few threads (so as not to flatten any threads if you miss and hit them with the hammer), and then give the knuckle a few well placed hits with a ball peen or dead blow hammer. The shock will knock the joint loose with no grease lost, boots torn, or un-needed time
This isn't so important with the front kit, but the rear bushing installs it works much better.
