I posted something in another thread last week about getting the spoiler replaced, and I had a VERY good experience also. I went in for service on March 16th and complained about the peeling spoiler, they said they'll replace that under warranty with an VIII spoiler. I got a call on April 4th and they told me the spoiler is in and painted, I was skeptical about it being a real VIII spoiler at that time. I went in on Apr 9th and they replaced it with $0 charge, it's a genuine VIII spoiler with CF patterns on the inside of the pillars, needless to say I was very happy with the outcome of that.

Well I am getting mine on Monday and then putting my cams in on Saturday then getting tuned on the 28th then Carlisle on the 4th-6th. Things are lining up well.

I just hope the prepainted spoiler matches perfectly.

Well I have a 5yr/60k mile bumper to bumper as I bought the car after July 1, 2004. That is the line between this warranty and the older 3yr/36k mile warranty. I assumed it fell under that although they didnt even have rep look at it or take pictures or anything. They just had the latest TSB that basically said if someone comes in for a claim on this issue, give it a visual inspection and then order a new one. My guess is they had so many claims they finally gave in.

If I ever need to go to the dealer for any reason, then i know where to go.

But I am not a fan of stealerships anyway...

I don't think they are covering the Brembo's... I got the front's replaced and then they said no to the rears. They said they got into trouble with Mitsu. IMO they should be covered under Paint and Corrosion just like the rest of the car.

How did you get them to give you the EVO8 spoiler? I thought they were out of production

i got my brembos replaced right before I left the states, over a year ago. mine just started to peel. the dealership knows me pretty well and knew i was going on an overseas tour. i just wanted the fronts done but they insisted to do all four and told me if i wanted new pads and rotors bring them in and they will changed them out as they were doing it.

What do you guys mean by stealerships? I am unfamiliar with your evom lingo.

They are replacing the VIII wings with refinished VIII wings according to the TSB he let me read while I was waiting for the free oil change.

I bought the car there so maybe that is a big reason they are cool. That and I bet they sell 2 EVOs a year and I have one so it's not everday they get to work on something fun.

Here we go stealerships, here we go!!

If you look closely, they overlay another piece of carbon over the peeling part of the wing. They do not replace any parts of the wing unless you DO opt for the evo 9 wing.

Really? I will have to look closely at this on Monday. I have seen replacement wings before though and they look just fine.

And techincally the do replace the whole wing, even if it is with somebody elses "core".
