Evo rocks Mitsubishi Sucks(esp Orange County)
Evo rocks Mitsubishi Sucks(esp Orange County)
Hey guys
I really love my evo viii mr bought i am getting to a point that i think i am left with no option except selling it.
my first mistake was that i bought a used stock evo with 15k on it thinking it has warranty and there would be no problem with the car.
the car had a whinning nose i took it to Tustin dealership the replaced the transfer case the car still had the noise around 50-60 taking my foot of the gas either in gear or N. Tustin closed 2 weeks after that and the other mitsubishi dealer that was close to me inIrvine closed in the following month after Tustin closed.
I didn't find the time to take the car to dealership because of its leak under the TC and all of a sudden my clutch started to slip. i took it to Dynamic autosports installed the ACT street clutch and took it to Anaheim which 30 miles away from me with the whinnig noise again.
they diagnosed it as the right axle link to tc leaking and that the rear diff having metal deposit in it
they special ordered the diff replaced it and gave me the car it was ok for couple hundred miles and there is leak again. i took it to the last choice in Orange County
South Coast Mitsubishi.
they told me that they are gonna charge me 500 just to check the car and when i asked them why they told me because anaheim and tustin has changed parts on it whatever they do would be red flag for dealer and will cost them.
this is really shocking and even though i knew about bad customer service from
but could not beleive that is that bad. i talked to the rep of South coast
and he told me that the rep for Anaheim is different and should talk to him
anyways they are not gonna take care of the car with no charge with only 22k on it probably cause it is an evo
can anyone help me with the situation?how should i confront them?or should i just sell the Viii and wait till mitsu's customer service picks up(in ten years or never)
Thanks all

I made a thread about dealing with the noise you are describing and 10 other items! The only thing I have gotten fixed was the temp control knob was hard to turn and thats cause there was a tsb part for it.......everything else they are acting like they cant duplicate it! I told them if I had to take time off work to verify the issues that I wasnt going to be very happy and he assured me it wasnt neccessary. Here I am a little over a week later and nothing more yet! Good luck to you and I will let you know if I find a way through all the red tape! BTW, mine is a 100% stock 03 with 17K under the 3yr/36K bumper-to-bumper warranty!
yea im the same boat man just went to my stealership on monday to get pictures of my brembos taken to get approved for warranty manager told me that mitsu wants to see if i sprayed them with chemicals ha stupid oh well good luck with your evo.
