Yesterday sucked. Stupid LICP

I need to vent some.

Yesterday during lunch I went to go visit my mom and help her take a moniter out of the back of her car. Ever since I moved out she finds little dumb reasons to get me to visit her because she misses me. Anyhow after heading back to work I hop on the tollway over here (beltway8) and merge onto 59. As I'm making that turn, boosting slightly... (litterally barely at all) My car goes thump and makes that dreaded pop sound. That one that sounds like something just broke. Fortunately I have had my UICP pop off twice before and I know it's not serious. After the turn finishes I baby it to the shoulder and get out and look. I hoped it was my upper pipe and I can just squeeze it in. Nope... look under the car. Yup definitely my Lower pipe.

A couple days ago, a friend and I installed an Evo9 turbo on my car. I want a green but I'm impatient. Also I called out a bolt on cobra to meet at HRP (houston raceway park) and found out he's trapping 121. Crap. So I needed to do something. At my current state I'm probably no faster than 12.1-12.2 on pump. I figured I'd throw in my 9 turbo, get my wideband installed and have jestr tune it through email.

Well anyhow the LICP popped off and normally I'd just take my bumper off right then and there and fix it... except when we finshed the turbo install... I left my tools at home So I baby it down to the feeder, then loop through a parking lot, then go to discount tire and ask them if I can borrow tools. One of the guys there is really nice and lend me a socket set. A few pieces missing but better than nothing.

I walk to my car and get ready to take the bumper off... crap... he's missing a 10mm So I walk to a tool store near by and buy tools. Come back and... he has no adapter for the Socket. Walk back over and buy an adapter. Ok lets get to work. Damnit now the socket wrench will tighten but it spins freely when i want to loosen. Walk back over to said tool sore. The girls there start making fun of me and telling me that i must love that tool store. sigh... anyhow go back and take the bumper off. not only did the LICP come off but the t-clamp holding it onto the intercooler split in half. what the hell? I am on 1.1 bars right now. I'm paranoid when it comes to my car so while untuned for the 9 turbo i turned my boost all the way down. And I was not full throttle on that turn. Couldnt have been over .5 bars. Lame

I just stuck the LICP back on and prayed it would stay till work, then to home. Luckily it did. Then I had to ghetto rig it with my roommates stock rsx-s intake box clamp... which is a wirey little pos but better than nothing.

Someone recomend me some good clamps

Ive never seen that happen before. Was the LICP at a weird angle connecting to the discharge pipe on the turbo creating stress on the clamp?

wwell.... Tbolt clamps and a good lower IC pipe with a beaded lip will serve you well.

crappy ones. those were like the first things i bought for the car so they aren't anything special.

the intercooler pipes are logic performance and the front mount is GRE Performance.

front mount looks like this

heres the picture of the itnercooler piping kit.
