Why are the yellow EVO's not selling?
personally, i love yellow cars. the ITR, the newer WRX yellow, hell, my girlfriend used to have a yellow pinto. if i could afford it right now, i'd definetely get a yellow evo. carmax dulles has one right now for about msrp. i'm probably gonna end up getting a civic si or type r (when it gets here) cuz i'm gonna start working at a honda dealership. but i'd love to be the guy coming to work in a bright yellow EVO. that would be sweet. besides, the whole yellow and red being attractive to cops, it doesn't matter what color it is, if it has a big wing and your driving like an idiot, you'll get pulled over.
haha, i wonder where carmax dulles got it....i was trying to get a yellow one from carmax atlanta shipped there, but i found a red one at malloy.
anyway back on topic...
i think yellow does stand out more....my self, i'm not a fan of yellow i like red or black cars, personal preference....i honestly don't know many people that like yellow cars, and i haven't seen a yellow evo in person. so i'm not going to judge.

well, definetely. if it was anything else, i'd get black or white. or that dark grey/.gunmetal that BMW and the new accord come in. but for cars like this, yellow screams performance to me. i don't know why.
I work at a
dealer and we have sold a yellow, blue, and 2 blacks so far. We still have another yellow and a silver, both have been here about a month, actually you see more people looking at the yellow one.

I have a yellow one, would not have taken any other color- my dealer has 6 silver ones sitting there since they came out. Evos of all colors are not selling, that's why I got mine for $1000 under sticker. It is a very specialized car, and the reals fans who can afford one already have 'em. As far as resale, if they can't even sell the cars new, they are not going to retain their value used...
I personally think the Yellow EVO looks fantastic. The first - and only - time I saw one on the street I nealy gave myself whiplash trying to get a better look. It was sweet.
I think the problem is that when you actually sit down to decide which color you want to drive for a few years, the yellow seems a little intimidating. I know if I was planning on speeding all the time, I wouldn't want a yellow car. I guess if you just liked to cruise, and didn't mind the attention, a yellow one would be awesome.
But I think the EVO looks great in yellow. I'd take one if I got a hell of a deal on it, but it wouldn't be my first choice because of the attention aspect.

Anyway, I traded in a yellow WRX, so I guess I'm a little prejudiced. I will say however, that I think that the yellow color will draw unwanted attention from the local revenue agents
The yellow looks alot better from the rear of the car when you dealtezza an Evolution.
Do I like the Evo yellow?
No, I hate yellow cars, id rather see yellow be discontinued and have like a solid dark grey color instead.

. OTOH, I guess withthe EVO it does not amke much diffence because the car looks like a hot rod anyway...Unless you take off the wing, fenders, intercooler, wheels, big red brake calipers, etc. I just don't think you can escape attention.... But after all, Isn't that part of why we own EVOs?

in the past 4 years of owning a Yellow car. I've never been looked at twice by a cop

Never been pulled over either
Red was first used on high-performance (read: fast) cars in Europe so they could be seen coming up on people doing ONLY 200kph.
Then the red got popular, so the 'new' safety color for the fast car became yellow.
Notice how few old (50's-60's) Ferraris are not red? Yes, I know that's their trade mark color, but really, this is where this all started.
If the car is fast, bright colors are safer. Green cars get hit the most due to them blending in with surroundings (ask any insurance guy). Do you want to blend in with your aluminum fenders?
I personally like the white, but I still have a few cars to drive before I decide...
