iPod idea would be pretty sweet, dunno if you have any type of integration. License plate was awsome too. maybe alter it and throw a gauge in there lol

It seems like a pretty easy and straight forward install. It comes with instructions. I believe that thing is around $160 or so? I'm pretty sure it's under $200.

I'm thinking about maybe putting an RS badge in there (if I can find one small enough) or maybe the Mistubishi logo. The other option is maybe putting an LCD display in there to display something like EGT or AFR. It would of course have to be hard wired instead of battery powered though cuz I ain't taking the console out to replace batteries. Any other cool ideas I might be missing?

Eh, I think you should totally do something functional with it. The badge is alright, but you could totally put switches or jacks down there.

First idea that I think would be really cool is something my friend suggested one time... Have a toggle switch that will flip between fuel maps, like gas-saver and speed demon.

The second idea (which you could do with the first) is to put in a 3.5 mm jack to your stereo. Keep a male-to-male 3.5 mm cable in the car and then you can easily plug in any mp3 player or laptop or anything else with a 3.5 mm jack to play tunes.

Both good ideas, but I already have a 80GB hard drive sitting under my passenger seat full of MP3's. It's hard wired into a power supply and the auxilory input on the back of the head unit. The gas thing would be cool but when I switch between 100 octane and 91 octane maps I just use my laptop.

The 3.5 mm jack would be mainly for the passengers. Like if somebody had something on their own portable mp3 player that they want to play on the car system. Just bringing it up, because I have had people patch into the car system that way often enough.

If that still does not seem that useful, then I would totally jam voltage meter in there, because I do not think it is that important to have up on the dash level.

Interesting. If the aux input is already been used on the HU can another source (like an iPod) be spliced into the line?

Ah, right. You have that PC running into your auxillary now....

I would either put RCA Y-splitters into the auxillary or use the line-in on your sound card (if it has one).
