700 mile Review of ACT Xtreme Clutch/Prolite FW...
Well, I bought the cusco twin disc myself, but I only paid $855+ shipping for it. I have been told by all the tuners I have talked to that it should be perfect for a DD/drag racer on the weekends. We will see when I get it back next week!!
Should have done your home work.
Did you have the restricter removed?
Did you get the extended clutch rod? Cause your going to need it.
Clucth will never settle. I speak from experience. You will be sorry. Read up before you buy. Biggest waste of money I ever spent on my car. Exedy Twin Plate the only way to rock! period.

Extended clutch rod does nothing. Why dont YOU do your homework? The ACT pressure plate has been tested to require less displacement of the slave cylinder rod than the OEM pressure plate. Now why would I need a longer rod again?
^^ That's true but the ACT is great setup regardless. I admit I'm running Exedy right now but I had the ACT 2600 (now the XTSS) in my GSX Eclipse. It performed incredibly well for 30k miles and was still good when I sold the car
Great, now I cant decide between the HDSS, XTSS, and Exedy Twin HD, thanks a lot you guys!! Any recommendations? My car will eventually be putting down between 400-450whp on a low reading mustang dyno. I'm leaning towards the XTSS since I wont be constantly launching and drag racing, and it seems easier and more comfortable than the twin HD
With that amount of whp you need to stop considering the HDSS. The XTSS with a street disc is the way to go if your car is anything but stock. The XTSS is the poor man's Exedy HD Twin, it just depends on if you want to spend the extra $$$. I run the Exedy now in my Evo which is great and the XTSS was great in my GSX.
I've installed ACT clutches in all of my DSMs and never once had a problem.
They work perfectly fins if they are installed CORECTLY. And the extended clutch rod is only useful if you have a bent/worn clutch fork which should only be corrected by replacing the fork.

XTSS holds 560 Torques, so it'll hold some SERIOUS Power and not have serious Price tags. It als fits and works as stock, just slightly heavier input, it is more then fine on the street, I had an HDSS on my VIII, My IX will have an XTSS.
