Evo Help...

Hey EvoM,

I am finally ready to buy an Evo. I have over 22k saved up and I am going to go new for sure. However, do you think they will have a TB IX SE around the chicago area at this time?

Also, I have been talking about maybe buying a Supra, as my friends are trying to convince me against the Evo IX, but i am not completely sure... Some insight would be nice? Thoughts?

if it's going to be your only ride in chicago with snowy winters, evo>supra. supra's are nice for dyno queens and drag cars, but i still think the evo has it in street car daily driven fun factor.

Yah, the handle-ing aspect of it is very important to me too. The supra looks better though, but it probably is bad in winter.. haha. Even with snow tires is it bad?

Heck no. I would never try to take a supra out in the weather. Snow tires...try chains.

don't even bother w/ a supra if you plan on driving in the snow...

this coming from someone who loves Supras more than just about anything.

The supra TT is a great car out-of-box.
Unfortunately it's extremely pricey for a car that old.
You can make oodles of power fairly easy with it. Much more than you can with an evo.

If you're looking for a daily driver, the EVO is absolutely great.
It's reliable. It's fun. It's got some power. A great daily. In my opinion it's not so much of a "weekend driver"...but I'm sure some of you on this site would disagree with me.

The supra would be a great weekend car. Nothing is as hot as a modified supra.
i've considered selling my IS300 for on once I'm done with it. Chicks dig supras.

As much as I hate to say it, but your daily driver comes first. Buy the EVO unless you plan on just buying both.

2JZGTE's kick so much ***.

With that amount of money you could go to www.modifiedcartrader.com and buy a skyline gtr which is awd and is even better than a supra. Now that would be an awesome car.

I'm in Chicago as well and it was a challenge to find a Black IX, but I finally did on Saturday. I had to drive to Milwaukee to pick it up, but 80 miles is child's play compared to the road trips described in the "How far did you go/drive to get your Evo" thread.

The dealership I bought mine from has another new IX MR in T. Black (SE). Check out Renner Mitsubishi outside of Milwaukee. At the time, they also had two MRs in GG and one in silver.

I'm in the Chicago area with a TB IX MR SE and am entertaining offers. It's only got 2,300 miles and ttp engineering o2 housing, downpipe, testpipe, magnaflow sport catback, k&n dropin, and ams ecu flash.

Also had a single turbo supra for 6 years...it's definately not a winter driver.

Buy the EVO

OR, if you're feeling wiley you can pick up a cheap sc300 and drop a full 2JZGTE longblock in there and convert to a single turbo for some pretty great out of the box power and upgradeability.

A lot of people are doing the SC300 swaps.
Not your typical SC300 but imagine deploying a parachute on the street

That'll leave you some money to get a beater car like a corolla or wrx or something.
