Economic Driving :D
damn, you guys get waffles and choclate. cant have it all, we got stuck with nascar, woah. lol
The best I've ever done? 124 miles in the first quarter tank. 196 miles by the halfway mark. 256 miles by the time I filled up (I still had about a third of a tank left). When I computed the mpg it came out to be 27.7. Boringest 256 miles I've ever driven in the car
. Now that was right before my custom tune. I've not been so conservative since then, but I'll bet I could get close to 30 mpg if I drove 55 mph on a straight highway with no boost and a strong tailwind.

Some of the people on this board just don't get it. It has nothing to do with "not driving the car to its potential" or whatever. When you're just commuting there is no point in boosting to a hard stop and boosting to take off. I drove to San Francisco a few days ago and got 351 miles out of the tank. Put in about 12.3 gallons to fill it up. Got about 28 mpg out of that tank. Save beating on the car for the track or the twisty back roads.
This is all I use in my Evo too. It does make a small difference.
I routinely get 280 miles on 12.1-12.3 gallons which equates to about 23.1 to 22.7 mpg. Sometimes I'll get into the 300s - I've gotten 310 before which is 24.8 to 24.4 mpg.
All highway, max 75mph, but still getting on the boost time to time.

hahahaha i own a civic and omg ill appear to have half a tank of gas or pretty close, and then enxt thing i know it appears to be empty lol, and ya about the evo gas same thing here the 1st half of the tank is awesome, this pasat time i has 176 miles on my first half tank, and i only ended up with 280 before the light came on
this isn't necessarily true. lets say the car was running lean, and the tune made it more rich, thats less gas mileage. also, the tune doesn't affect the closed loop operation, so any time your simply cruising or idling, your getting the same MPG regardless of being tuned or not.
Last week i filled up my tank and decided to drive as economical as possible.
So i was thinking of starting a little contest in here
To drive the most possible miles with a full gastank.
So you fill your car to the top, and then you drive till it's empty, and then you fill it up again and see how much fuel you can take, then you calculate how much mpg you did
I'm doing very good so far.
I've driven 174miles now and the tank is still a little more then half full.
I never went above 3000rpm, it's hard but possible
Grtz
