Economic Driving :D

Last week i filled up my tank and decided to drive as economical as possible.

So i was thinking of starting a little contest in here

To drive the most possible miles with a full gastank.

So you fill your car to the top, and then you drive till it's empty, and then you fill it up again and see how much fuel you can take, then you calculate how much mpg you did

I'm doing very good so far.

I've driven 174miles now and the tank is still a little more then half full.

I never went above 3000rpm, it's hard but possible

Grtz

The tank is deceiving...it does not go down evenly. Good luck getting more than 260 miles before your gas light.

I dont know if I should have the dealers check this out, or if it's normal...

when I fill my tank, drive normal, it's takes a while for it to go down to half, but once I hit teh half marker, it seems like it leaks or something, goes down a lot faster

should I have it checked?

Normal. Typical Jap car. Ask anyone who owns a Honda.

Some undercarriage aero dynamic bits will help too. Had Beatrush undertray installed and gas cosumption lowered by 1mpg.

What everyone is saying is right. The tank is so deceiving. Everytime im thinking im gonna ger over 300miles to the tank ; after halfway the needle plummets.......even with non-aggresive driving. Even if you had 200miles at the half mark...youd still prob. end up with 280 or 270ish before you fill up.

Interesting.

I drive my car nicely during the week for my commute to work, but during the weekends, I screw up my mpg by my 'spirited' driving... oh wellz!

Yeah, once I hit half way I usually fill up the next day or so. Once it hits half way, that needle drops quick.
