Question How do I stop the car from blowing the horn when I lock the doors?

Anyone know how to disable the car from blowing the horn everytime I lock the doors with the remote? I really really hate that and wish it would just chirp or make no noise when I lock the doors.

yeah i recently read somewhere, may have been th eowners manual, that you o the following:

hold the lock button down for 2-3 secs. that disables the horn feature when u lock the car. then give it a second or two and try again to see if that worked. i belive it is just holding the lock button down for a certain period of time to disable the feature, and to re-enable it, you would just hold the button down for the smae length of time again.

that should work.

If that doesn't work, then just read the car manual. The remote has a couple different modes depending on the combination and duration of holding buttons and it's all specified in there.

Sit inside your car to do this so you can hear the beeps. It may take a couple tries to get it right.

Hold the Lock button down for 6 seconds. While holding the Lock button down, push the Unlock button for 3 seconds. Release both Lock and Unlock button at the same time. You will hear 2 beeps. Do the same process for the 3 beep settings.

Check your owners manual for description of 1 beep, 2 beep, and 3 beep settings. They are all different setups.

i wonder how long it took you to get the answer online, when you could have looked at i believe page 3-7 in the manual.

You might try reading up on the car....the manual explains things.

yeah i know.... but as a typical guy we always hate reading manuals and try figuring things out ourselves. I did take a look at the manual after I realized this was discussed there. I honestly didn't expect something like that would be there but I was wrong.

autolocking?

Can the evo auto lock the doors at 5mph or something like that? I thought I read about it a long time ago, but I may be thinking of when I was following the MINI.

thanks,

The non-adjustable wing is not a USDM thing. The Non-adjustable part is an Evo 8 thing. That portion of the manual comes from the European Evo 7 manual FWIW.

You can adjust the wing with a hacksaw and crazy glue. Set the angle of attack however you want. It's right there in the manual...

I used duct tape and JB Weld. I couldn't locate any crazy glue and I really needed that extra downforce.
