Good Luck.

^lol, I think the warranty went out the window a while ago. I found the clutch still grips enough to get by for a little while, but I can't rip it anymore because it slips in high gears. The mount has got to get changed. I guess I have my work cut out for me. I will Take pics of the process of the clutch install.

I got up to 45 thousand miles before my clutch went out... I had the dealer install a ACT clutch which they say took 8 hours to install.

To keep it from bouncing when I started off I would feather the clutch more and let it slip alittle and ride it out. So what happened is its nice and burnt. I put the car in 4th and when I got on the gass at around 40mph the rpms went up to about 5000 and then I let off and they sort of just dropped down to 3000rpms. I repeated it to check and make sure. yeah its the clutch, I'm just pissed, I know the dealer won't warranty it and its my fault but I don't wanna change the clutch already. Stupid car falls apart if you drive it hard. So other than complaining I am here to ask how long do you think it would take to change the clutch. Is it like a 9 hour job, because right now I am busy swapping a sr20det into my 240, and my miata is also out of commission. So this burnt clutch is gonna have to last me about 2 weeks if not more.

stupid car? um no, i think dumbass driver.

i have the so called "dreaded '03" evo with 25,000 miles on it with most bolt ons and my clutch + syncros are as good as the day i bought it.

its not the car its YOU.

If I were you I would get the twin disk and maybe go to shep for a complete drivetrain rebuild and upgrade, I see a thread titled: (transmission and tc gone after 8k miles, stupid car and stupid twin-disk!) in your future....So just get it out of the way now and have the thing built to withstand the abuse you seem to enjoy inflicting on your car....

You cant dump the clutch over 5k when your over 300whp or you get some wheel hop try slipping it around 4000-4500rpm and it should hold like a champ. I am also at 36,000 on my stock clutch and yea i've burned it a couple times but it never gave up..and when you replace the clutch...and keep doing what your doing..you wont be changing the clutch since its stronger, the next thing to go with be yur transfer case or something worse...

+1

By putting in a HP clutch all your doing is transferring the stress your introducing down the line to the next part, as said above the transfer case, you should really take it easy with your car, or visit some scca events and get some schooling on the aggressive driving.

If you car is broke with the motor mount and clutch I would just park it, while it's not any of my business, IMHO you are taking the best car, by far, out of the collection you own and trashing it like its a cavalier or somethin. Days are gonna turn into weeks and **** is just gonna go south.
