engine question
this is not evo related but can somebody explain to me ( without being too technical ) what makes a engine rev high as in a ferrari V8 compared to a regular amerciacn V8?

it's more a matter of piston speed due to the stroke than lightweight internals. even with the lightest internals, you can only have so much piston speed before you run into issues. most domestic V8's use a long stroke, high displacement motor that would encounter reliability isssues running higher rpms due to the piston speeds encountered. for example, in indy V8's, which we all know rev to the moon, they use a very short stroke and a large bore to get the displacement of the motor to accomplish this.
