Protecting my car finish during a long trip

im taking a 1400 mile trip from florida to ny..and then Ny to virginia...now besides my idea using 3m painters paint to tape off my front end and mirrors...are there other cheap methods that arent crazy expensive and wont mar my paint...thanks in advance...

You could just cover the front of the car with that same 3M painter's tape. I'm not kidding. It's been done several times before...in fact, I remember seeing some pics posted on here of people who have done it.

It'd probably be a pain in the **** though. I've also heard of people using those clear bras with great results.

yea pretty much a bra, 3m painters tape or clear bra are your options with 3m painters tape being the cheapest solution

i've used the 3M painters tape before to protect the front end, looks pretty funny, but works really well.

Vasoline, and Plastic Wrap. Peel the plastic off when you're done, and wipe of the Vasoline. Good as new.

I dont know what it is called but somebody makes this stuff that you spray on your cars front bumper and it hardens up then you can wash it off later. It if for situations jsut like yours.

Comes in either clear or black. Costs about $8 for a can. You spray it on, so it's much easier and quicker than putting painters tape on. Then you wash it off with regular auto soap and water later. Supposedly does not come off if it rains.
