Good luck with the repairs. If you dont want to spend a fortune picking up an evo 9 bumper from the dealer i might be able to help you out with an EVO 8 front bumper.

Oh ya, I started thinking more, it's going to be higher- have to consider labor as well.

When I hit a deer

HID Headlight
Hood
Windshield
Drivers Fender

Insurance gave me a $5,000 check.

Front bumper never got touched though

I got a Seibon CF hood instead of a stock hood, I must say its Junk and im trying to get rid of it cause its cracking all over the place.

Wow, man that really sucks.

Although I gotta say this ... rear-ended an SUV in bumper to bumper traffic??? Dude, your brakes are waaay better than any SUV. Next time: mind on the road, not your new parts.

u should get the total damage estimate in a check then start the repair in your own hands/fav shop. u will save tons of money by buying used already painted bumpers, hood(or CF) and fenders. lights also get used. is radiator and/or IC damaged also? more used.

Plus 1 - What's up with all the "yea SUVs are the worst" comments? She stops in traffic and gets rear ended by a car that has the best breaks available on any car under $100k and it's the dam SUV's fault?

To the OP - The $5k figure is probably close, if not more. I'd have your intercooler checked too, though it looks like the damage was above the ic. Definitely use this opportunity to "upgrade" what needs replacing. GOOD LUCK!

Yeah I'm lucky, intercooler and piping not even touched. I turned into the collision while breaking so it was not head on. As far as I can tell nothing mechanical other than the headlight was busted- and the cool part about the light is that the HID headlight bulb itself is fine!!! It's the housing, fog, and turn signal that got it- so I'm in talks with EvoDave about some swap outs and trade-ins.

I plan to go with an OEM hood as I don't really want a CF hood, but the fender can be just about anything new or used, just not OEM and then pint matched. The bumper- I'm hping ot get an evo9 one but not sure how much they cost.

And everyone keeps telling me that my brakes are better than that and you guys are right... I wasn't paying full attention to what was going on- as there was a dual semi rollover accident that was causing the backup, I was trying to see what the heck happened- as everyone else was. This was my fault, but at the same time she sped up like nutts and then slammed the breaks on which she hadn't done in the 10 miles I had been following her- it was weird. I couldn't see anything in front of her cause the For Explorer she was driving was pretty high.

This is the amount of damage that a 5-10mph collision can cause.

I feel for you, but I just can't reach you. This is what happens when you follow too closely and rubberneck. I've seen it happen time and time again. Rubberneckers drive me crazy.

Glad you're not seriously hurt.
Look on the brightside, now you can get the hood you want and other stuff.
A buddy of mine parked his DSM at a Wendy's and went inside. He came out to find that a big lifted truck has used his car as a parking space. Managed to pick up a CF hood, trunk lid, and the 2gb front and rear bumpers he wanted

bahahaha everyone is a rubber necker whether they admit it or not- so that's no excuse - I could've seen a dead guy running around on fire or something- you'd look too!!!! ahahahaha

In all honesty I think the lady I hit was rubber necking as well since she was a few feet higher up then me and then BAM slammed on her breaks when she saw no dead guy and almost hit the car in front of her.
