Do it yourself.....evo owners are getting raped on their insurance rates as it is....you report it, and your will skyrocket.....just FYI

Our insurance won't go up much, thanks to the state I live in. No fault state, plus my cousin is an independent insurance agent that can flip us to any other company who's rates our lower. He told me not to worry- since there is only one claim, plus we have multiple discounts....

Keep in mind I am currently paying $108 a month for full coverage on my car, my wifes 07 mazda cx-7, and renters insurance.... I think I'll be ok even if it hikes a bit lol.

honestly... u should be pumped! ur gettin all brand new parts! i was bummed at first about my accident but when i thought about it... i went DAMN i got a brand new bumper, new hood, new fender and wheel (got a tiny bit scuffed).... at the expense of 500 dollars! SWEET! (i realllllly dont care about insurance-long story) I got into the accident... car went to the shop on the spot (i made THEM TOW IT!) didnt wanna drive a dinged up evo home haha and insurance was there the next day and appraised it for 9g... they ordered parts instantly and boom.. only down side is............... the parts took a few months to come in haha
everything will turn out fine, if u were planning on getting rid of the car well then, people get a lil sour about cars that have been in accidents but mines with me for life so i could realllly care less lol

good luck though! hope everything works out for you.

ahah yeah that's how I feel now. I'm not getting any new parts other then some other things lol, all the parts I bought are slightly used, which will match all the other paint and wear and tear on the other external parts of th car. Used hood, fender, bumper, but my lights will now be evodave MR style and I'll have painted amber side markers.

The only new parts I'll be getting will be the upper tie bar/radiator support, and an AEM uego + dual steering column pod. Then after labor, and my deductable I should be able to walk away with some money.

This isn't the first Evo vs SUV thread i have seen. How closely do you have to be following for ANY SUV to outstop a freakin EVo. Totally your fault. Stay back or pay better attention.

dude suck it- I admitted it was my fault, and explained why several posts, back. This thread isn't for people to pitty me or jump on my side because I'm admitting fault. It's more of a thread th show what can happen at 5mph into a lifted SUV... I was not riding her A$$- I was just following her and both of us were trying to look at the accident- and then she slams on her breaks- I have bad reaction time as I'm exhausted from the day at work and tired of driving slow bumper to bumper forr 15 miles and an hour later- so I hit her- and that's all there is to it.

This thread is not for pitty- at least get more than 3 posts under your belt before you come onto an evo Forum and be a smart ***. As you can see I'm just telling my story and showing some pictures.

There were no tears shead- hell it was my fault and I knew pretty quickly after that I'd be able to get all the parts I'd need for cheap, and put on for cheap- add a couple toys, and come out of it with an extra grand or two. Not a bad deal, but still a huge pain in the *** to coordinate. I'm ordering parts from all over and they're not all going to come in at the same time.

On top of that the shop my car will be worked on doesn't have room for it to stay at for very long- so right now it sits in my garage with no bumper or headlights. ahaha But at least it still drives good- the only thing it needs other than cosmetic parts is an alignment.

It sucks, but in some ways it's a blessing. The wife and I just bought a house, and there's always a lot you can do with a few grand or so when you have two extra rooms you're not used to...

But until then- I drive a rented blue sentra... Not as bad as I thought, but dog slow and REALLLLY makes me miss the evo.

I'm not really seeing a reason for that post, since it was all over the place and didn't really have a point, but uhm... Yeah. I have to leave for WORK in a few minutes in my nice blue sentra rental. I think after work my wife and I are going to go walk the dog and go out to dinner.
