Pemex gas is fine, probably better than most US stations, but their bathrooms can be another story, good luck.

Back in the day, I had a 1991 BMW M5 and I upgraded it with a Dinan ecu chip which required 93 octane only. In those days the best gas they had on the pump in mexico was 89 octane so I simply brought a trunk full of 102 octane booster with me.

I will never forget driving down the "devil's spine" on my way from Matamoros to Mexico City and up there over 10,000' getting my *** handed to me by a Turbo Dodge Spirit I met along the way - it was my first encounter with the superiority of turbos in high elevation

When I hit sea level in Alcapolco my power was back

It was a amazing journey I took through mexico I was down there for two months just driving around

However, these days I would not feel secure to travel in Mexcio for such great distances which is sad as Mexico is an amazing place

Best of luck

PS - look out for the pot holes !

Don't worry about the gas in Mexico. My poor 2004 Evo has lived it's entire life on a diet of 87-89 octane gasoline, which is the best we can get at the pump in my little 3RD World country of Honduras. I would be happy to run PEMEX 92 instead of the cr*p that we get here at the pump.
