LICP not as important on IX?

just getting ur guys opinion i know the LICP can yield good gains on the 8. i have a IX and have been hearing that the IX pipes stockers are larger diameter stock as compared to the 8. therefore making aftermarket ones "Not as worth it" on a IX. i was going to go with a nice quality (ams or buschur) aftermarket LICP set. i have turboback exhaust, hallman mbc and am gonna order a LICP set as well as a k and n or some sort of filter before i get it all brought together with a tune. to you guys with a IX did you notice a diff after install LICP or should i save my 220. thanks.

yeah i hear you on the bang for the buck ones. thats why first i got the turboback and second i got the MBC. all i wanna do now for engine mods is possibly the piping and a good tune to bring it all together. maybe ill check for a nisei or something. i worry about fitment on ebay stuff, it seems to be about half and half.

From seeing both together it seems the same size on the ix's as on the viii it just that the 9's spool better with the mivec. Its a well worth mod. Anything that will up the flow of the motor (intake, tbe) will be "worth it" .

yeah and i figure for only 210-220 for something good like buschur or possibly a cheaper one its worth it either way. id like to get something hard like ams or buschur as opposed to hoses.

I have a Nisei LICP on my IX; I noticed no difference whatsoever on the butt dyno or on spool-up...

Save your cash...

Oh, BTW, it seems to me that cars with the AMS LICP seem to make 5-10whp more than other cars with the same mods. It's also one of the only ones that provide a gradual increase in diameter - maybe that has something to do with it...

I'd love to know who is telling you that the IX's stock pipes are larger.

An upgraded LICP provides the same benefit on both VIIIs and IXs.

Exactly... I could see a better gain on the 9 more so than the 8 due to the bigger turbo on the 9. But from the results they are the same in all gains.

I recommend the ETS Unit. Very nice piece thats affordable. Great customer service and packing/shipping.

If you've ever seen the stocker on the IX its substantially narrows down as it meets the turbo. In my opinion is a restriction and should be tossed out into the scrap yard.

Warr,
I would like to know your opinion on the licp debate? Is it noticeably worth it?
