So a buddy and I were crusin' Toledo last night, lookin for some trouble. Well...we found it...and in the weirdest package ever. It was a mid-80's Mitsubishi Starion. I'd never even heard of the damn thing. We're driving along and all of a sudden, we hear an HKS BOV going off. We look at each other like "what the f@ck was that?" Then from behind, these blue headlights come hawkin us down. And here is this Starion. This thing was tight. So we made a pull or 3 on each other and that lil' bastard was no slouch. He kept right up with me. We stopped and hung out with the kid and his buddies for a while. It was a 2.6 with an 18g turbo, and intercooler FROM A BUS that he had cut his bumper out to make fit, and all kinds of other goodies. While he was polishing my ego about how "sweet" my car is, I was doing the same to his. Very impressed. He says, "that's nothing. I got a 500hp race motor in my basement right now to put in this winter".

How did you know the brand (HKS) of the BOV? The stock BOV on a Starion / Conquest is loud.

BTW - it's the same thing as a Chrysler Conquest TSi from the 80's. A nice RWD platform, I had one before I sold it to buy my first Z28. It was an okay car, but mine had transmission issues and was generally expensive to work on.

 

I had a Dodge conquest TSI (89).. had a head gasket problem, turbo problem, electrical problems, cracked exhaust manifold, etc.. I bought the car used and got screwed royally.. I always Loved that body style, and would love to get a Starion if there werent so many little electronic gremlins to cause problems.. (the electronic gremlins is what caused the car to overheat and damage all the other stuff)

My Civic hatchback can keep up with Evo from 50mph-100mph...

It is a CX with GSR swap and quick ratio ITR tranny though.
