help rear doors dont open - jammed!

hi guys my back doors are de handled and have solnoids fitted with switches on the dash to pop them open,

they been working fine for months everyday use now they'v just stopped working they dont open from the solenoid or from the inside handle. the unlock switch on the door doesnt turn to unlock (red sticker) mode anymore, just simply wont click into unlock.

have managed to take the door card off one door and from what i can see everything is doing what it should apart from the unlock rod. i however cant see anyfurther as there is a black box which i think has central locking electrics,

please anybody know what to do? any help would be appriciated

thanks

Just a couple stabs at the dark:

Are there child safety switches in the rear doors, and could someone have turned them on?

If so, and your popper is attached to the internal door mechanism, that might be why they aren't openign the door. Can you try using whatever mechanism the outside handles were connected to? You might also see if you can access the child safety switches from inside the door.

Dunno, just a couple random thoughts.

yeh popper is attached to the inside mechanism, as far as i can see i cant find the mechanism for the outside before the de handling, i can only assume it wasnt scraped due to the solenoid.

im so confused as to how to get it open

there is a child lock and door still wont open regardless if its on or off.

Are the door popper's even engaging? You should have a fail safe button somewhere just incase your battery would to ever die on ya.

yeh poppers are working fine, pulling the rod to open the handle, its the top rod which locks/unlocks the door from inside which doesnt seem to be clicking into the unlock state (red sticker)

fail safe wise there isnt one as the front doors are still stock so the failsafe is if the batts dead you can open them from the inside .

Any way to get the panel off the door at least where the lock mechanism is? You might have to cut a section out. By failsafe, I would think of some kind of cable attatched to the latch on the inside of the door on the lock mechanism just incase the inside door handle breaks. Kind of like the trunk emergency latch thing.

What triggers the doors to unlock? are you still using the factory actuators to unlock (as in move the latch to the red sticker) or did you install AF actuators for the locks? Can you hear the actuators for the lock moving?

Stockwise evo's and lancers come with the remote to unlock the doors which is connected to the actuators. Some peeps keep this remote and use and AF alarm system or door popper system in conjunction with the stock system. Others let the AF system do all the work. How is yours setup? It might be that the actuator to unlock the doors is burned out or not receiving the signal to unlock the door.

The best way a door popper system works is if the doors stay unlocked all the time and the reason they would is that if their are no handles on the outside then you do not need the doors to lock because they cant be open anyway. Some people feel that the doors having to be unlocked then popped open is better security but its really a pain to get the 2 to work correctly so that one happens right after the other. Or they just have 2 separate buttons for this one to unlock the doors and one to pop them open.
