If they mark it up, kick them in the nuts. And don't let them sell you any of their aftermarket parts. Oh yeah, be careful because the black ones have bad luck. jk.

dont pay over msrp. you have the upper hand cuz they are selling like crap. have them wash the car completely and look around at it like 10 times and look at it close and hard = look for paint imperfections, blemishes, bubbles, scratches and bring them to the dealers attention. make sure it hasnt been test driven. enjoy the first 600 miles under 4k rpm good luck.

ADM is right.. DO NOT REDLINE that sucker or youll pay for it with your soul(us evo lovers will rape you) haha jk. Yes, well, in la you can get good deals. Miller mitsu has good deals and i know afriend that knows a guy down there where he got his evo, for like 600 under msrp. So ya.. if the sticker says anything over 31-32g's DONT DO IT...bad enough they charge you that much. Show them who is boss...and look elsewhere, dont be suckered, you are kinda in a pinch though seeing you dont have a car, but if you get a rental....see...these are all factors to consider, but yes.. THOROUGHLY look it over.. dont leave till you know it like you or your gf's body, lol, dont get suckered in paying all this extra $$ for aftermarket ****, cause dealers will try to throw in all sorts of **** you think is cool.. but really is gay and cheap and you just got sold a bag o shiz, so be careful, congrats on your decision for the evo though . Make sure to post when you ACTUALLY get it

wow you guys are awsome. About the MSRP i know. I checked all over and the guy at this dealer seems really cool about it. He was telling me how he thinks its rediculus how other dealers are charging markups. hes like, Man its just a lancer with a tubro lol. So im not worried about that. About washing and and checking it thanks for that tip. Also i read that most evo's have bad wheel allignment from the factory. Should or could i ask them to do an allignment. Also, the dealer im going to doesnt have a black evo. he is going to get it from another dealership. So im going to tell him i want to go with him and I want to be the one to drive it back. How many miles should i say is acceptable on it. I dont think i want the car to have more than 5 miles on it before i get in the drivers seat because someone must have driven it before me. The last thing i want is an evo that someone already raced in. i wanna take very good care of the motor before i beat the hell out of it =). Oh one last thing. when you wash your car. doesnt water get in the hood vent? Does that mean i have to make sure the engine is cold before i wash my car, and wont i get soap water all over my motor? That doesnt sound right. Fill me in guys.

water and soap on the engine is no big deal. just makes the exh. manifold heat shield look ugly.

if you are getting the car from another dealer they will tow it to your dealer ship. if they dont tow it to your dealership and want to drive it over, dont take. just go to the other dealer yourself and buy it there. you cant controll the miles on the car, especially if its been sitting on a lot, you can only be sure that it has never been driven if you are at the dealership when they are unloading it off the truck

when they go to put gas in it, drive it yourself - as this is the only test drive you will get!!! notice anything that seems wrong and let them know. check the tire pressure at the dealership before you leave.

keep the car for a week so you can get accustomed to it then go back to the dealership to have them check the allignment, balance the wheels/tires.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 under. MANY of us paid less than MSRP. I got mine for $500 under and didn't pay an additional dest charge that some dealers are adding on. I saved $1100 between the 500 off and no dest compared with a deal I had written up at another dealer.

Don't pay MSRP!!!

Also, the break in issue has two camps. Many don't agree that strict adhearance to the RPM limits is necessary. Some believe you can have a faster motor by working it hard during break in. I didn't beat mine, but did occasionally red line it during the break in.

Good Luck.

I was offered an Evo of my choice with sunroof for $28900 and they will negotiate a bit more. If a Dealer out here (Portland, Oregon) will sell one for that, you should be able to get close to that price. I was also told because they are 03's, there may be discounts available sponcsered by Mitsubishi in 2-3 months (2004's should be not too far away). Hope this helps. This car costs like heck to insure. Consider that too.
