i run 15w 50 on both mine over the years... even ran it in my eclipse! Its great, but i wouldnt say its a HEAVY oil.. it runs smoother for higher performance vehicles... you wont have a problem... ive ran it 12 months a year in the cold *** winter too here in WI... RUN IT

The more miles on your motor the better this is. Reason being as the bearings wear out more clearance between mating points. Little more oil won't hurt at all.

Its not even mentioned on their pdf, but the zn and phos contents are much higher than 10w 30 mobil1 normal. Anybody running this on any fp turbo?

I also apologize for the thread revival, but it beats creating a new one. For those of you who use this, how do you like it so far? Reasons for choosing?

The numbers are supposedly 1200+1300 PPM which is decent considering the availability and convenience. I made the switch up from 10W-40 not too long ago. TIA!

It would not hurt especially during the hotter times of the year here in SoCal moreso if you are outputting beyond factory power levels.

Glad to hear it! What is your change interval and how does it look then?

FWIW, I am using it in my 3000GT VR-4 @135k miles

I run Mobil 1 15w-50 (SM) in my high hp Evo and love it. The newer SN spec has gone down in zinc, phos and moly so I might run a different oil after I run out. My local Walmart stocks the 5qt jugs which are still SM spec but the quarts are SN.

Found these VOA's from BITOG-

VOA of the newer SN 15w-50 oil-

And here's the older SM formula-

Definitely is a difference between the two. I was at Walmart today and I bought up the SM jugs they had in stock.
