pawned

Bro, you got pawned. There is a similar device that is used for drunk drivers. They are required to blow into this hose sober in order to crank the car. It takes more time to start your car with this so if you're in a parking lot with someone waiting for you to move out, they'll start honking you and getting pissed off why it's taking you so long to move. The way car theft is, if a thief really wants your car he will get it regardless what type of security device you have on it.

you make a great point, and this is why i don't want the stupid theft system. If a theft wants your car, there is nothing you can do to prevent that. I think it is just a waste of money. furthermore, if i find out this is a theft device from the mitsu corp., I will be mad at the dealership.

check your receipt or whatever else you have in writing that specifies exactly what you got? it does sound fishy though, as other members have said here!

go to the dealer and tell them you want it removed, and ask them if they would reimburse you the cost since you werent made aware that it was an aftermarket item.. ask nicely and you might get lucky.

it seems like they offered it to him and he said yes. you dont have to buy the car if you didnt want it, or not buy that accessory.

dealerships own the cars. if you want it, you pay what they want for it. this is a way of making extra money. i am sure its pretty easy to pull out, but they will probably charge you to do it.

Is this thing called "Starguard"? This was a dealer add on which was about the same price. I know the guys at the dealership so they just included it free of charge.

youre an idiot if you think you can take this to court and win. If its itemized on your 553c (sales contract) and you signed it agreeing its terms, youre SOL my friend. take my advise on the same post you made on SOCALEVO and complain to mitsu corporate that you were misled into getting this... if they believe you, they will put enough pressure on the dealer to remove this from your original contract. Otherwise, unfortunately the dealer will be in the right on this...

It's probably LoJack, but it won't lower your insurance for most companies.

Sounds like the Stargard security system was installed. I got that from Veracom on my car also. Is it the chip that sits down under the steering wheel, you can remove it to disable the starter?
