I had something like this already on the Evo before I purchased it. I told the dealer to take it off because I did not want it, and they said they could not take it off. Needless to say, they left it on and I never got charged for it! $600 for free. Realyy does not do anything anyways.

Tell them to 'magically' take if off or the deal is off.

Sounds a bit weird. The only thing the dealer tried to sell me was an extended warranty.

Definitely shady... I would have given them alot of push-back on it. If you haven't closed the deal, tell them to either take it off, or heavily discount it.

those "stargard" chip key things cost about ten or twenty dollars. it interrupts the starter.
i have been told that most dealers will "pull it out" for you.
a common occurence is they will take the key and break it off inside the unit, therefore bypassing it. nice, huh?
