thinking of trading my evo 8 for the 9!
There's no way in hell I would pay $10k for nearly the same damn car!
If your current car is problem free there is no reason to upgrade.

I have an 03 its paid off and I wouldn't even consider an 06. There's alot of hype about mildly modded 9s but in all honesty the only difference is the 8s need cams and the 9s don't. Are you really ready to spend 10 grand on what you could get for $500?
Bottom line is cars depreciate. New ones faster than old ones. Your **** hole will be stretched very wide if you go from an 8 to a 9 especially after the 10s are released.

I would trade and VIII for a IX in a heart beat. I had an 04 VIII, and an 05 VIII RS and now I have the IX GSR SE and I love it. Also the IX's were made only one year so they will become rare.

Id keep the 8. I mean, one day the 8 will be just like the 7, RARE, and the 6, 5, 4..etc... I own an 03 Evo 8 and love it. It has the Intercooler sprayer which others dont and i like it. I mean, I love all evos, since the 1st one; I think each evo has something that the other one doesnt. So feel good about yours

The IX is much better than the 8. I can see y you'd want it, but the improvements are not worth the loss. Just my op.
If you need new tires you can subtract $1000 from the from the depreciation, cause and evo with the stock rims and no 046's just isn't the same. Unless your running r-comp
Funny I might be in the same boat next year when the X comes out. I even thought about selling the IX MR now and buying a beater to drive till the X comes out.
