Based on my experience... you should have never went down the side street. That makes you look guilty, and it forces the cop to make a quick decision to either let you go, or pull you over.

If you just went straight for a while (may seem like forever), the cop could have ran your plates, and if your clean, let you go. The additional time also allows the cop to calm down a little bit more. Instead you tried to avoid him and he followed you and turned on his lights.

that cop seemed ok compared to the sheriffs dept in phoenix az. i got pulled over while doing like 8 over and the cop used his microphone to tell me to get out of the car and put my hands on my head. he flipped out for no reason. then he gave me a ticket for criminal speed. i couldnt believe it.

another time in tempe, i was drivin my friends highly modded wrx and got pulled over for "a scent of marijuana from the vehicle". it was the most BS i had ever heard. the car smelled fine, they just pulled us over for no reason at all. the cops in the phoenix metropolitan area are absolutely out of control.

the exact same thing happened with me, with my old 8. He knew i had no cat but he looked under my car, but he didn't take out that thermo meter. I always have the factory heatshield on my testpipe so i get away with it.He looked into my car also maybe look for the ses light? But i told him maybe a sparkplug problem
Now i'm running on quiet set up ,since then no cops stoped me yet..

this makes me consider putting the silencer on my exhaust when I get it. do I want to, noooo...but for the reason I drive about 60 miles every day to work, I don't want to get stuck with getting pulled over all the time.

man, I need a few pba cards...how about you guys with extras sell some! LOL

What you posted there is some borderline stuff. Thing is If I got pulled over for doing stuff like that I wouldn't be upset. But what pisses me off is just getting pulled over for stupid BS reasons. In my MR2 I almost never got pulled over. In my 240SX, which has a VTA BOV, I never gotten pulled over. In My Miata I got pulled twice. Once for Flying past the cop at like 60 in a 25, and once for dodging manhole covers. But in the Evo, its like Every other day or so, lights "Insurance registration and license. You know your car has a big wing and thats a visual obstruction. " Or the most recent excuse "I can smell the fumes from you car when driving behind you." Sorry to ranting on like this and I know you guys deal with all this BS too, but I am going to seriously consider just putting my stock exhaust back on and pulling the wing off. When it was stock I got pulled over too, but not like this much.

Dunno. I have a random tech hfc. It also came with an authorization card stating its OBD II compliant and the vehicle its in should not fail inspection which also has a direct number to call.

Altering, removing, and/or destroying the emissions control devices on you vehicle is illegal and is punishable by State and Federal Fines and/or Jail time. In other words If you don't replace your converter with an OEM one its still Illegal, but The cop can't tell anyway and if they found out your converter wasn't OEM I don't think they would car much. But It is Illegal to have a converter on thats out of OEM Specs. Same thing with The EVAP system and EGR and all those other nice power robbing Emissions control systems.
