Question about ignition coils.

I just bought an 03 evo that was a repo and the guy pulled a lot of parts on this car! The 2 coil on plug packs are gone and so are the plug wires. My question is can I use coil packs from an 06 evo on the 03? I know the 06 is the mivec or whatever but it could possibly use the same coils. Anyone know????

i would just get the coil-on-plug that buschur offers. It may be a bit overkill to start, but no matter what mods you throw at the car you'll never need another ignition.

Thanks. I already bumped this guy yesterday, waiting for response. This doesnt look too promising because there are 2 coils and he keeps refering to what he is selling as "a coil" not 2.

Still waiting to hear if anyone knows if the 03 and 06 use the same coils!?!??

Got the car for $15,000.

Anybody out there.

There are a lot of smart people on this site, someone has to know or know where to guide me to. My question was can I use coil packs from an 06 evo on the 03?

The coils MAY be the same but the plug wires and the boot coming off the bottom of the coils are different from the 8 to the 9.

The 8 uses fatter spark plugs.... the 9 has skinnier spark plugs. The plug wires and coil boots are not interchangeable.

Easiest way to figure out what the coils / wires came out of is to look at the boots. The 9s will have red on them.

coils will probably work. wires and coil boots will not work.
