And I'll take your broken one
I never heard a turbo have a clicking sound unless the compressor wheel was hitting the compressor housing. This would happen if the shaft was bending while under boost, but I don't think that's the problem here. It could also happen if for some reason the bolt came loose that holds on the compressor wheel. Lastly, something was sucked up into the turbo. If this was the case, you would here it all the time.

What kind of boost controller do you have? Asking because mine makes noises like you are explaining, just not at the same time.

Definately check your boost controller. Don't want to jump to conclusions. Did this happen right after you installed your boost controller?

I would say it could be the mbc. At max boost you will have the ball lifting and seating at some frequency which I guess could make enough noise to hear. I cannot hear mine (car too loud) and from the logs I think it happens much slower than what you are hearing. If you have the hallman with the lightweight ball it should cycle faster.

My AVC-R boost controller makes a clicking noise for 5-10 seconds everytime I turn off my car but I hear that is normal for that boost controller. Also I can feel the solenoid vibrating when it clicks.
