rear brake install help asap

I am doing my rear brakes have both the pins out and the spring. Once i put both the pads in the caliper theres not enough room for the pads to fit around the rotor. How do i release the pressure off the caliper? And one more thing the spring needs to have both the in the middle section of the spring. First time doing my brakes.

I just did mine today with stop techs and hawks...

Well All you have to do is compress the piston bores by prying the pad back against the piston. There isnt much force necessary to do this, so you can probly do it by hand.

Then, when you go to put the caliper on with the pads inside, hold both pads tight up against the sides of the caliper and put the chamfered )top or bottom edges) part on first then wiggle on

Personally I leave the calipers on the rotor and use the old pads as leverage to push the pistons back in. You could use a c-clamp against the old pad but it is hard to do with the shape of the caliper. I have not tried this yet but I plan to, you could loosen the brake bleeder screw and the pistons will push right in by hand. Put a hose and a container on the bleeder because fluid will come out. Then just top off your brake fluid reservoir when you are done. I'm not sure what your second question is, please clarify.

just use a something as leverage to push the piston in...pad installs are super easy...

and don't loosen the bleeder unless you plan on doing a full bleed. Once done ...pump brake pedal before starting car

Also, try not to spill the brake fluid on the caliper paint, it will eat the clearcoat. if you did, wipe it off right away.

you should be able to check the brake caliper on the other side to see how those springs are placed. unless you dissasembled both sides at the same time???

Not to purposefully make things complicated but you wouldn't need to do a full bleed, how would air get into the system? My way you don't push dirty fluid back into the system.

And in answer to the other question the spring just sits on top of the pads. Put one pin back in fully, then put the spring in, push it down and put the other pin in.

All you have to do is depress the caliper pistons, either with the old pad or whatever you can wedge in there safely. Work both pistons going back and forth until they are both depressed enough to fit the new pads. Then you insert the pads the same way the old ones came out, get one of the pins through the caliper and pads. Then take the spring insert the one side under the pin and press the other side down while pushing the second pin through. The little triangle shaped sides on the spring should be facing down puting pressure on the pads and pin....

Put one pin back in all the way then the clip then the other pin. It sits on top of the pads with the taper kind of pushing them apart. Always a good idea to do one wheel at a time and use the other for reference if you're not sure. See attachment.
