Whats the next car in line?

So a lot of you guys that have been driving your car for 30,40,50k and more are still happy every time the garage door opens out of your house and you're off to go to work; having the luxury to be able to drive this fine auto. I personally LOVE my evo to death and know that I will be buying another one in a while.

UNFORTUNATELY, at my age (20) and buying it OUTRIGHT from my own pocket, I've decided the best idea is to sell it and come back to it another day. I also drive an 87 Toyota which I'm in the process of selling as I post this because I don't want to be stuck with a pickup as my daily driver after owning an EVO. Its nice to have a truck for certain occasions, but seriously... EVO > Wheeler.

ANYWAY!!! to the question. I'm looking to buy a new car that I can still customize and have a little fun with until I'm able to step my game back up to the EVO in a couple years.

I know this can be searched for and whatnot, but I'd rather have the opinions of some of the guys that ALREADY drive EVOs and IF you had to choose, what car you would step into if you were to sell your EVO and why?

RULES:
Cash to buy something else: $5,000 to $7,000 limit
Must be somewhat of a fun car to drive
Don't care TOO much about MPG although it could help
Lastly, spending closer to $5,000 and having money left to put into the car is something to think about too

Ok since you say a 5-7 grand limit I would def go with a 1st gen Eclipse GSX to easy to find and cheap. Just cause you cant keep the evo doesnt mean you have to step down to a civic.

I might be in the same boat since I just got married. In the 7k range you can find a SVT Focus (I had one), and they are very fun to drive. Not nearly the power, but handles the twisties very well.

2nd gen Eclipse GSX. Looks better then the Evo IMHO. You can make it just as fast by taking many of the sameish mod paths as the Evo, it is a very mod freindly car.

People think they are gold with the prices, but if you find the right one, they are fun cars that are easy to mod.

good luck finding a 2g GSX in good condition with low milage. You are better off getting a 1g and know that you have the option to make it a nice track car in a couple years.

lol at the people not reading the thread-starter's full post and recommending 50k+ cars

I would recommend a GSX too. It's like a baby Evo.
