I have an all weather rubber mat over mine. Carpet mats just don't last and can't handle winter snow and salt.

I'm guessing wmcorcor is using a rubber mat to protect his mats. It's basically a type of rubber mat that collects all the dirt, snow, etc..It goes over your mats. Just put them on top of your mats. That simple. You can buy them at any automotive store. Pep Boys, Autozone, etc...

I actually have one myself. It's pretty uselful in the winter. When you don't want all that dirt and snow to get in and mess up your mats.

I take all of my floor mats out every 3-4 days, completely vacume and pick out any of the "junk" in the fibers by hand. Then I use a really mild carpet cleaner on them. Finally, I scotchguard them twice before replacing them. They are in awesome shape - except there is a slight wear mark where my right heel is digging into it. I'm going to take them out and replace them with some of the rubber "rough weather" mats others are using here. That's your best bet.

Same thing happens to me, the mats slide all over the place and they are coming apart. I was thinking of getting the metal mats but they look tacky. I want something that will last but look good.

Has anyone gotten the MOMO metal mats? they look classy in the pictures. Has anyone actually seen them in real life?

They are weathertech, about $45 a pair and they protect the normal carpet mats. I haven't driven much with just the factory caroet mats but mine don't seem to more around at all.

Are they Mitsu factory or some other?

My Previous Car was an 2001 Eclipse Spyder. The clip on that worked real well. I expected this one to work. But you are right... it doesn't work at all.

the carpet below i have found is real loose, i was thinking of getting some carpet glue, and squriting it around underneith the clip so it stays down. because there is a little cut behind it that you could get down in there and do that..... but don't want my car to smell like ****.

My mat is wearing pretty good too, from where my heel's rest. No problem with it sliding around though. Seems that Mitsu would of made them a little tougher. Only have 1500miles.

probably not wise to glue the mats in place.

if there's a problem with mats here, why dont you guys take it up with the dealer. surely it's not too expensive for them to warranty.
