Just did my Oil Change...

hey guys just did my oil change and I put in 5qt's of oil and now I noticed that i'm over by a 1/2 qt...should I drain the 1/2 qt or would I be fine?

that's why you go slow and check the oil level. yes drain the excess never overfill the oil.

Our Capacity is 4.5 Qts roughly, hence why your over. Drain the Extra half QT.

Yea the extra 1/2 Qt is usually hiding in your oil cooler.

you dont get all the oil out unless you let it sit for a long time. full is 4.8qt. Just buy the 4gt Mobile1 fill it up, measure and fill if needed.

Shop manual for the Evo 9 lists the oil capacity at 5.6 qt. But I could not get it to take a full 5qt either.

It would take forever to get all the oil out of our cars. Just fill 4.5 with an average drain and you should be fine.

Guess I better drain the 10 quarts out of my car. lol 1/2 quart shouldn't pose a big problem, just drain a little and stop pouring all that oil in while you're admiring the car.

That probably includes oil in the oil cooler, all the lines, etc that will not get drained during oil change.
