Definitely better to over-fill than underfill. The reason being that your oil level will be WAY too low if you go the 3500 miles to your next oil change.

no overfill or underfill is not good for any motor underfill= lack of oil that should be available (obviously) overfill= blowing seals,aerating oil and such...... just get it right and your engine will be happy
