Stock for stock the 07 STIs and the evos are almost exactly the same (a lot of magazines have difficulty declaring a winner) so I'd assume since he has more mods he'll win. The intake might be hurting you at the moment but with a tune it should be fine ( I think).

People talk out of their butts.

A simple tune on an EVO IX with any sort of mods will get you close to 300awhp if done right.

Dyno'd at 296awhp I had an intake, a test pipe and a electronic boost controller set at 21.5psi peak.
I could have done the same with factory boost control but I didn't like that route.

I went back again and re-tuned and got 306awhp and 312 tq with the same mods.

I tuned someone else's car and he has a IX with the same mods as me but has a full TBE. He made 326awhp.

A fuel pump will not give you any power. It's for safety. After installing a walbro into my IX, I saw no change in AFR throughout my RPM range and load. It is just there for safety.

If your MIVEC map is done well, it'll pull like a motherfocker and you'll spool a few hundred RPM quicker...not that a IX has any lag to begin with.

Oh wow! You're a mod...lol.....j/k everyone knows more mods on a subie does not mean and I repeat, does not mean it's faster by an means.

For example: I had and exhaust, intake, and mbc and was running high 12's here. You wouldn't believe the amount of subies with more mods around here that still can't even touch 12's.

Then I got piping, meth and a tune and I'm now running times they could only hit with aftermarket turbos.

Stis put down power on the dyno but it doesn't really translate at the track

True but when you look at the mods, the statement stands. If all the evo guy has is a TBE and an intake while the STI guy has a TBE, intake, MBC and a reflash (key mod), it's pretty clear that evo will be looking at the STI's ***.

a stage 2 sti with the cobb map wont get you into the 300 whp. If you're a good driver, I'm sure you'll win.

According to Cobb you'll get 277.7 whp and 316 wheel torque.

Do you have a 5 speed or 6speed? In those highway runs the 6th gear is definitely something that comes into play.

Having owned an 05sti with the same mods at one time, he is only putting down about 300awhp/315awtq if he is protuned with his cobb ap. You will kill him with his mods since you have a IX and IF you have a custom tune...

As far as real racing is concerned, I'm suprised Subaru/Fuji has never addressed the understeer issues that plague the STi. I put a IX MR head to head against an 07 STi, and the IX was ****ting on the suby in the corners :/

It's true what many of the magazines say...EVO is king

given the new sti's and 9's are very well matched, it would be fun to try the race, and then see what you would need to beat him, if you dont allready.

sounds like it would be close

evo 9 vs STI
http://www.gtchannel.com/content.php?cid=4552

The evo always seems to pull through, just as the VIII vs the 03-05 STi matches have rounded out on the strip and the track. I think with a good launch and shifting skill you should win. I would get a flash and up the boost, cams wouldn't be bad either
