Okay, guys.... you wanna know a real world outcome of what happens when you race these two cars?

I have an 05 Stage 2 STi and I raced a tuned Evo IX with MBC, Reflash, fuel pump, drop in filter, and turboback in the Evo.

First Run: 60-110mph I lost by 1 full car and was reeling him after 110mph.

Second run: This time my passenger got into a different car and we went from 50-125mph. From the get go the Evo 9 pulled and then by 120mph I caught up and lost by 1/2 a car. As the speeds went higher my STi did a lot better. Once I get my new tune I think it'll be neck to neck.

lol!!

Btw cobb stages are very conservative. Your sti friend should just get an bigger IC, IC hoses, and get a tune and should be well over the 300whp mark.

I highly, HIGHLY doubt that you even driven an EVO or an STi let alone own one.

good luck

with ure mods and his, the cobb ap will probably get him around 350 or so. I just test drove a sti with downpipe, full exhaust, cold air and ap it was faster than the evo with the mods you said you have installed. it will be close though. i ultimately think it will come down to the driver. if you raise your boost like someone mentioned on here than u might take him. remember that sti stock runs boost level at like 14.5 and evo at 20 i think. if he raises his then you might lose. good luck and go evo.

That's very funny

It's all speculation. Let's hear the outcome if you do race. And do it at the track instead of the street.

btw.. I'm sure a Cobb Stage 2 map increases the boost on the STI. I run a OSECUROMS stage 1 map on my STI and it's got raised boost.

Also, You really cant compare the 2 boost levels as the Evo having an "advantage" because it runs more boost from the factory. Evo comes with 19+ psi peak boost stock and can run 23 psi peak on 93 octane with a good tune. Generally STI's dont like that much boost on stock gear since they have a smaller turbo, stock they run 14.5 and generally you add about 4psi to that for 18.5psi. I've seen some 23 psi Subaru maps but that seems a little scary with a stock turbo. So adding 4psi to each would be considered equal. Stage 2 boost controlling STi maps generally have about 18-19psi.
