Hey guys, i got a IX with ams tbe , and aem intake. My friend has a tbe,intake,mbc and the cobb thing for his computer that he payed 700 for on his 04 sti, im wondering if it would be close or should i wait til i get a mbc,fuel pump and tune?

 

Depending on how good a driver you are, you could probably take him. Since its your friend, hopefully its for bragging rights instead of money.

sounds like he has cobb stage 2, thats like 320 whp on an sti i think, if u get

will be close but if you had the mbc you'd easily eat him up.

 

I disagree i have a Stage 2 STi guys, and I ran a friend of mine with an 2006 Evo IX with MBC, Drop in Intake, turboback exhaust, and fuel pump.

We went from 50-120mph I lost by half a car and was gaining on the Evo IX and the next race he raised the boost more b/c he was concerned that I was catching him quick. But the second race I had no passenger and he didn't as well.

And we went from 60-120mph and I lost again by half a car, if the races kept on going I would have been dead even b/c I was catching him. I came back from 1 car to half a car.

 

The Evo IX is certainly way stronger then any Evo 8 I've ran into.

 

Yea its def for bragging rights, my friends took a ride in his car yesterday and they were like WOW, thats fast, and he wanted to race so i was like, u get it tuned yet? He smiled and told me about the cobb thing, i said let me get the stuff u have , then il go.

But, everyone always forgets the one important mod. DRIVER MOD!!!

 

take your friend to the track or on an autox event and there you will see who's got it.... This 60 to 120 does not mean anything but tickets and reckless driving on the record.... good luck
