DAhhhhhh, that's good. The STi has the same cheapo interior as the WRX, the same sloppy tranny feel, the same "sittin in a tub" driving position, lamer mousehair, and worse visibility....etc.

I bet the 2.5 EJ doesnt like to rev as nicely as the EJ20. Boxer engines are going to be smoother out of the box by design..and you can feel it compared to the rougher 4G63....but I'll take the proven design, better det resistant heads, and better VE.

Subaru...been there...done that. Got my Evo.

...It’s a shame that a "lesser car" (in your view) keeps "winning" the hearts and minds of the automotive media. Oh, wait, seems to be "winning" everything else at this point too. I'm sure once they get the "bugs" worked out of your car that the tides will turn... you know how fickle the media is...*

*I don't participate in such discussions normally, chalk it up to a little troll rash...

ok dudes

you got my..the STI is a buggy machine.. I guess the pages of "whats wrong with my EVO" and all the tech issues are my imagination.. look I dont bash.. but this forum seems to be fanboys...

I liked both cars but what settled it was this.. I dont know 1 person that has kept a mitsu more than 3 years..not one... never owned a sub or a mitsu.. but I know sub owners who drove thier cars for 150K miles plus.. that was my decision...

chill out.. be fast and furious.. but dont be a fan boy

Yeah it's odd. IMO after seeing what "nice" interiors feel like over the years, the Evo plastic/rubber combo they go going on for the dash is pretty good. I just get an overall more solid feeling (probably due to the E46ish design of the interior) of the interior than the have of Subaru. I'm not sure what the Mag writers where whining about, but after reading negative comments, then going and owning the car myself - the writers are p*ssies, and really don't understand the compromises required to achieve price/performance. Nor have they ever tried the aftermarket and what it takes to "warm over" a vehicle.

you talk all this crap about not liking to bash and all this other garbage, but thats exactly what you are doing. In this thread at least one other that I saw. What is your deal? It is known the the interior on the scooby (hahah, that just the dumbest nickname ever) is better than the EVOs. I've never seen an STI's interior myself, but i've heard several people say so.

I'm damn sure the tech probs with the STI as just as bad as the EVO (which aren't that bad). People are not gonna post "oh, my clutch is great" they are only gonna post when something goes wrong and thats a fact.

yes your car is fast, so is mine. both cars are awesome blah blah. Your car may have more power and slightly beat mine in a straight line, but wont even touch me on a road course.

haha, you are humorous, had to bring up fast and furious. Your car is cool, but you are lame.

what, now what?

oh yeah, and not to mention there are a lot of former WRX owners that now own EVOs instead. "Why?" you may ask.... well its a simple answer and should be able to figure it out yourself

wh00t, I started a flame thread!

I sat in, drove and rode in his STi. The interior is NOT as good as the Evo's, but the STi's paint is better. The STi's tranny was sloppy, but effective. The seats were not bad, but not as good as the stock Recaros of the Evo. His STi felt faster than my Evo stock (of course, it's hard to really gauge when you're not on the track), but my Evo wasn't stock then and will never be again. I flat out own him now.

You can give a 5 year old a Ferrari Enzo, but he isn't going to turn 11's at the track. The guy who owns the really nice STi in the pics has run a best of 14.3 at IRP. My first time out in the Evo, I ran 13.9 and bogged it on the line really bad - showing true to my RWD roots.

I don't understand why Mitsu haters hang out at this site. I hate Hondas, and I never visit their sites stirring up ****. Seriously, it's like being invited into someone's home and then telling them how ****ty their house and furniture is.

Besides, the Evo and STi both rock. If you are nit-picking the interior then you've forgotten why the cars even exist. If you need that kind of pampering, I hear Lexus makes nice cars.

Oh, and to the guy who says no Mitsu owners keep their cars for 3 years, I just got back from the DSM shootout in Ohio. MANY of those guys have been in the DSM scene for 10+ years (including David Buschur).
