HP without boost in Evo IX
don't laugh...when i was NA in my 95 Supra it put down 162 to the wheels...car weighs over 3200lbs i believe...and yea it was a laugh, thats why i NEEDED a turbo!
btw - an evo will make ~45wtq with no boost. Of course that will vary depending on mods and year of the evo.
So more torque is needed on your lug nuts than the engine puts out.

You guys will find this thread not only entertaining, but they talk about an N/A STI as well:

my car was at the shop ( i work there) and i had the front end taken apart. i had to move my car cause they need to move another out. I had no intercooler on so the turbo was boosting nothing. Well the car sucked i could barely make it back up the curb. i had to do a 5000 "launch" while slipping the clutch all the way up the curb and until i was back in the garage. Never gonna do that again i felt really bad
so that might give you guys a rough estiment on the hp...it was probably running really rich too

just because its beefed up doesnt mean it has more power....thats just to handle the abuse and strain a turbo puts on the car
an AWD car on 8:1 compression isnt going to have no where near that much power

That's funny you ask this question. I was thinking the same thing yesterday and was shocked when I saw this on the home page new post section, that's actually the only reason I'm responding... wierd how things happen. Anyway, I thought to myself, how much would the engine make if it where given appropriate timing, cams and compression, and air fuel ratio to run as N/A... I actually figured around 200ish as well, which with the 40% to the wheel would feel like 150ish... ; ;... crappy. The boost IS the car
I had a Mazdaspeed Miata (turbo version released in '04/'05 for the people who didnt know)... and one night after turning up the boost to 10.5 lbs, the throttle body inlet pipe blew off, after going into boost.
Well, needless to say, a car was coming & I had no choice but to floor the car and to get out of the middle of the road... so I did. The car was BAWWWWWLS slow! Im talking, like 80whp slow. (The car made 200whp on the dyno). It was nuts.. I seriously couldnt believe how crappy it was without boost. Ran kinda like a honda, or a N/A miata I guess, and the engine wasnt as loud as it was with boost. Kinda funny if you ask me though.

It's hard to say, but I'd think 170 at the ABSOLUTE highest, with MIVEC (like on the IXs). However, without the turbo, keep in mind the engine would be really stout and ready to handle a ton of mods. With as strong of a block, you figure even if you went the all-motor route, you could probably work some magic (though not as magical as Honda if you want to stay NA).
id agree with the 100-120 range
when i try to drive out of boost, my car is freakin slow as hell and makes me look like a grandma on the road.
My auto integra ls had way more power.
The boost is obviously where all the power is
