Question HP without boost in Evo IX

So, I was talking with friends and the question was asked "If the boost was disabled in an Evo (IX), what would the HP be?".

I know this is a silly question but it got me thinking. Does anyone know?

Oh my god... that would be ***** slow..... 160hp in a 2500lbs car is mega slow. Think of a car weighing over 3000lbs, hahaha

After researching the internet, I'm guessing 210 HP...

No way is it 210 hp, that's more power than civic SI that is meant to be NA. One thing to consider, the compression on the evo motor is meant for boost as is the cam profile and timing.

This is probably right. Are we talking about literally the stock motor with no turbo? Not going to get much power from a low compression NA motor.

If you figure a lancer ES/OZ rally with 9.5:1 compression has ~ 100 whp then an evo with 8:1 compression and timing differences etc. would be well... less than that Chuck's guess sounds right actually.

Good point.

I'm really going to get mad if my MKI GTI has more HP then my Evo without boost

Yeah, like ambystom01 said, the whole engine is built around the turbo, take the boost away and a Prius will walk you.

140 150 160 170??? you guys are way too optimistic! if just all motor 4g63 would be around 100 to 120hp, think about it turbo motor has lower compression ratio.
