Sounds like an interesting time. That stuff can be pretty dangerous though.

You AZ guys should post on AZAWD.org. That is where we usually organize all the meets and stuff.

This is a great way to cure heat soak. I did this in my 03. I live on a piece of land that streaches out into the Bay and the acces road floods 2-4 Feet. I plowed through it and had to go fast cuz the exhaust is underwater at that point. Drove well, then my A/C compressor died and shtuff got oxidized by the salt water.

Motor was perfectly fine.

The best thing to do is go so fast that you actually hydroplane across the water. You'll glide across it and hopefully you can save the car from hitting any other cars/people and you be fine no water in the engine or anywhere you need to worry about! Simple enough..

You don't need to worry about the coolant, clutch line or brakes, but I would change the fluid in the rear diff, transfer case, tranny, etc. In my 8 the front diff picks up fluid from the transfer case - not sure if your 9 is the same.

I would also make sure to spot check the all the CV boots to make sure none of them are letting watery grease out. The CV boots should have kept out all the watter, but they are designed for wet weather, not submersion.

actually it is better if you drive slow but without stopping in a flood. if you drive through it fast, it will flood the intake and if you decelerate or release the gas, the rear exhaust will suck in the water either way. that means keep your right foot glued to the gas pedal to about 4000 to 5000 rpm and keep moving by working on the clutch and gears.

Thats cool I had my car in a flood once when I was in El Paso I had water all the way to my hood vent I saw smoke coming out of it.... I was driving slow through the water the car seemed to stall a little but it kept going all the way home it was a couple of miles like that. I was amazed by how much water there was around...

im surprised that you survived this.. yes our cars are meant for rallying but not really rain like this.. are cars are still low to the ground where we could still flood the engine
